The brief was to fully refurbish a tired property into our client's dream London home. Their aesthetic was bold, industrial, and contemporary, whilst also appreciating the house’s architectural history and period features. Combining these elements was an exciting challenge. The goal was to create a formal, elegant atmosphere that suited the house’s style, without compromising our client’s personal taste or practical needs.
We preserved the property’s period features—high ceilings, intricate mouldings, and classical elements—while introducing contemporary furnishings, textures, finishes and colours for modern sophistication.
Working with listed buildings and a trusted build team, we managed the project from start to finish, ensuring full compliance with borough requirements.
An extensive technical package included custom joinery, lighting, AV design, and a basement air-flow system to address damp issues. The result is a functional, character-filled home tailored to our clients' lifestyle, while preserving the building's charm and history to the highest standard.
The previous owners had removed the dividing wall between the entrance hall and dining room, losing the sense of grandeur at the entrance. To bring back some formality and privacy, we added a new dividing wall to create a cosy dining room and a proper entrance hall, rather than just a thoroughfare space.
